ABOUT US...
Founded in 1940 by Alvin D. Bos, the company originally began as a candy and tobacco wholesaler and first entered into vending in 1955. As the vending business expanded the company made a decision to focus exclusively on vending and the wholesale operation was sold.
In 1966 Alvin D. Bos’ son Thomas G. Bos left his teaching career to join his father on a full-time basis in the business. Today Thomas G. Bos serves as Chairman of A.D. Bos Vending Services. In addition, he is an active participant in the Michigan Distributors and Vendors Association, the industry trade group for Michigan.
1966 also marked the establishment of the commissary operation to produce fresh sandwiches, salads, and other deli items for our valued customers. The commissary operation continues to be an essential part of our success. Still today, we receive many positive comments from our customers on the quality and variety of items created in the A.D. Bos Commissary. Freshly produced, eye-appealing foods remain a point of pride for our organization and a benefit to our customers, which set us apart from our competition.
The early '70s marked the entrance into office coffee service as A.D. Bos continued to expand the range of services offered to our clients.
In 1981 as the need for expanded warehousing and maintenance facilities grew, the company headquarters moved to a larger facility in downtown Holland.
The first on-site café was developed in 1988 as A.D. Bos grew to become a full-line supplier of food services to corporate and industry customers.
1997 marked the year Thomas J. Bos, son of Thomas G. Bos returned to West Michigan to assume the role as president. He continues to lead A.D. Bos in this role.
A.D. Bos moved into the current facility on the North side of Holland in March, 2005 as additional warehousing and food preparation space was needed and to allow easier access for the many truckload deliveries now received. The new facility allows greater efficiencies to meet the needs of our growing base of customers in West Michigan.
